Grafton--Cecile Marie Blanche (Noel) (Mayo) Johnson passed away on August 16, at the young age of 94 1/2. Cecile was born in Millbury, MA in 1927 to Napoleon and Angelina (Gagnon) Noel. She was employed at Buck Brothers, Millbury and also worked for a local caterer for several years.
In 1969, Cecile married Ernest E. Johnson, Sr., and lived in Grafton with their combined families. No words could adequately express the love and patience Cecile used to make their house a home. Saturday morning coffee time was never missed by neighbors and friends debating politics and catching up on gossip over Cecile's homemade pastries.
Not only did she enjoy family gatherings, she enjoyed the family and neighborhood camping trips to Sebago Basin, ME. Cecile and Ernie also traveled to Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Nebraska and Las Vegas (she loved the slots), Then there were her escapades to Foxwoods with her best friend Betty Shannon, frequently enjoying their winnings.
Cecile was predeceased by her parents, husband Ernest, two brothers, Aime and Paul Noel, and her son David Mayo. She is survived by her sister Marie Claire Saucier, of Millbury. She leaves her children Charlotte Eramo and Brian Kaseta, of ME; Charlene and David Luukko, of Douglas, Ellen and Leigh Chamberlain, of VT, Cheryl and Stanley Caron, of NH, Ernest E. Jr. and Gail Johnson, of Charlton, Mark and Linda Johnson, of Charlton, Kerry Marshall, of Grafton, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Mayo, of Rutland. She also leaves numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, August 25, at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 17 Waterville St., N. Grafton, preceded by a calling hour at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton, from 9:30-10:30AM. Burial, in All Faith's Cemetery, Worcester, will follow the Funeral Mass.
