Obituary for Charlotte A. Paravano

Charlotte Ann Paravano of Uxbridge, MA passed away peacefully in her home on May 26, 2023. She was 82 years old.

Born in Worcester, MA on January 26, 1941, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Joseph Theodore and Irene (Germaine) Rabouin.

The youngest of five children, Charlotte was raised by her eldest brother, Theodore (Teddy} Rabouin, the famed Warlock of Westborough, after their parents died when she was a teenager.

She leaves behind her husband of 53 years Anthony Paravano, longtime owner of Anthony's Barber Shop; her daughter Alison Paravano and her husband Paul Stedman of Worcester; and her son Anthony Paravano and his wife Michelle Lea Paravano of Millbury.

Charlotte worked at the Worcester Science Center, now the Ecotarium, for many years. She also worked at Brown Shoe Company in Worcester.

Charlotte enjoyed nature, working in her yard, painting and antiquing. She was also an excellent cook. A passionate soul, Charlotte was an avid lover of animals, rescuing anything that needed help, be it a wild animal or a lucky stray that found her. A favorite childhood memory of her daughter Alison was when Charlotte would recount the events of a particular morning while she was on her way to work, and she noticed an injured hawk in a field. A fearless caretaker, she took off her blazer, safely secured the hawk and brought it to a rehabilitator where it was cared for and eventually released.

Charlotte's family extends its gratitude to her caregivers, Liz Airde and Paula Barkley, who helped fulfill her wish to live out her final years at the home she loved; to Laura, Margaret and Theresa from the Hannaford Pharmacy in Uxbridge; and to the dedicated, compassionate members of SALMON VNA and Hospice for their assistance, guidance and spiritual solace in the last weeks of her life.

A graveside memorial service and burial will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 2:30p.m., at St. Luke's Cemetery, 26 Hopkinton Road, Westborough, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charlotte's memory to Adey Wildlife Rehabilitation at P.O. Box 534, Ashburnham, MA 01430 or online at www.Adeywildliferehab.org.
