Obituary for Elizabeth A. Morris

GRAFTON: Elizabeth A. (Dame) Morris, 83 of North Grafton, MA passed away peacefully March 11, 2023 at AdviniaCare Northbridge after a long battle with dementia.

She leaves her beloved husband of 61 years Richard E. Morris. She is also survived by her three children David Morris, Thomas Morris and his fiancee Sheryl DePiano, and Karen Parent and her husband Steven. She leaves her loving grandchildren Ted, Jack, Lauren and Robbie. Elizabeth also leaves her sisters Carol Norton, Susan O’Neil and her husband Edward, and brothers James Dame and his wife Phyllis and Richard Dame and his wife Vicky and several nieces and nephews.

Beth was born October 16, 1939 in Worcester, MA daughter of the late Elizabeth (Broderick) and Lyman J. Dame. She spent the majority of her life living in North Grafton where she and Rick raised their family.

Beth, as close family and friends knew her, graduated from Anna Maria College Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Education. She taught in Shrewsbury and Grafton Public Schools for twenty years. In the 1980’s she transitioned to an accounting career and worked at Bose Corporation until her early retirement in 1994. Beth and Rick spent their retirement years traveling to Bermuda and Hilton Head, S.C.

Beth was a lifelong learner and loved to read. She enjoyed music, art, travel, day trips with her sisters, book club, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

The Morris Family would like to thank Kelly and the staff at AdviniaCare for the many years of care they provided Beth.

All are welcome to gather with Beth’s family and friends Thursday March 16th from 9:30-11:00am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a prayer service at 11:00am in the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
