Obituary for Karen Kell

GRAFTON: Karen (Quaranta) Kell, 80, passed away December 28, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Her husband of 52 years Robert “Bob” Kell predeceased her in 2015. Karen is survived by her children John and his wife Kim and Robert and his wife Kathleen; her beloved granddaughter Charlize; her brother Richard Quaranta; her sister Paula Hedlund and her husband David; her sister Karla Lynch and her husband Paul; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Karen was born March 31, 1942 in Worcester, daughter of the late Ruth (Kimball) and Ralph Quaranta. Her roots were in Shrewsbury and Sutton where she graduated from high school. She worked for nearly her entire career at Polyvinyl Films in Sutton where she was the Office Manager.

Away from work, family was always first with Karen. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She and her husband Bob were usually close to home with family close by, where you could also find Karen knitting, flying pigeons with Bob and, much earlier in life, riding horses. Her family will remember her adoring love, strong work ethic and her no nonsense perspective that were always present throughout her life.

All are welcome to gather with Karen’s family Wednesday January 4th from 10-11am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a prayer service at 11am in the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. In lieu of flowers please honor Karen with a memorial donation to the American Red Cross at www.RedCross.org.
