Obituary for Patrick J. Maunsell

UPTON: Patrick J. Maunsell, 52, unexpectedly passed away at home October 28, 2022. He leaves his siblings Elizabeth FitzGerald and her husband Arthur, Kieran “Bob” Maunsell and his wife Natasha, Julie Vona and her husband David and Gerald Maunsell, his nieces and nephew Bridget and Kiera Maunsell, Padraig and Katherine Vona, and Bridget and Maribeth FitzGerald. Patrick was predeceased by his parents Bridget (Quinlan) and Patrick Maunsell and his sister Mary.

He attended Saint John’s High School, Hampshire College,The Independent Study Program of the Whitney Art Museum of American Art, and Jan van Eyk Akedemie; where he received his Laureate of Fine Arts. Patrick was well versed in arts, languages and culture.

His passion for education, the arts, and traveling led him to study and live in New York City, the Netherlands, and Germany becoming fluent in Spanish, German and Portuguese. Patrick was well-read and knowledgeable on many topics, and his conversations were lively and engaging.

Patrick wrote his own story, lived on his terms, and was completely unique. He was known to have true contentment with his life and the things that mattered, always there to help those around him.

Patrick was known for his kindness, compassion, loyalty, wonderful sense of humor, and lack of judgment by his family and his network of global friends. He touched so many people with his huge, bright heart. Patrick loved to travel, making new & lifelong friends along the way, as he traversed the globe with his dear friend, Zorica Vasic.

Patrick was devoted to his family and adored by his nieces and nephew, who fondly refer to him as “Uncle Packie”. He could always make them laugh and understood their personalities and outlook on life.

He was dedicated to the field of real estate for the last 15 years, working as an entrepreneur committed to advancing his goals as a developer.
