GRAFTON/AUBURN: Norman J. Daigle, 91, passed away peacefully at home on a beautiful fall morning October 20, 2022, reuniting two souls meant for one another as his wife Jean passed away in January of 2022. Norman leaves his son Norman Daigle and his wife Joanne, daughter Debra Rixham and her husband Randy, his grandchildren Joseph Daigle, Elizabeth Berry, Christine Daigle, Jessica Daigle, Samantha Daigle, Joshua Rand, Leah Gaspar, Amanda Reese and Jamie Cook, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Constance Bombard and son William Daigle.

Norman was born March 14, 1931, in Quebec, Canada, son of the late Beatrice (Blair) and Joseph Daigle. His roots were in Worcester where he was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School where he was a baseball and basketball player. He went on to serve proudly during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army and he went on to become Commander of the Delisle Goulet Post 92 in Grafton, 3rd Degree in the Knights of Columbus and was past president of Worcester NAFCA. He also organized, managed and coached the Delisle Goulet Post Baseball team and coached Tom Ash and Babe Ruth Baseball as well.

Norman was a truck driver by trade, was a 40-year member of Local 170 and worked for UPS. Following his retirement in 1993 he went on to become the Secretary and Treasurer for the Teamsters local 170 retirees.

All are welcome to gather with Norman’s family and friends Thursday October 27, 2022 from 10-11am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 11:30am at St. Mary’s Church 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. He will then be laid to rest at 2pm at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 111 Glenallen St. Winchendon, MA 01475. In lieu of flowers please remember Norman with a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
