Obituary for Rose M. Santora

NORTH GRAFTON: Rose M. (Latino) Santora, 94, passed away peacefully October 6, 2022 at Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation in Natick. She was predeceased by her husband Augustine Santora in 2005. She is survived by her children Michael Santora and his wife Carol, Stephen Santora and his wife Beth, Mary Brach (spouse of the late Kenneth Brach), Susan Roome and her husband Reginald, Mark Santora and his wife Anna, her grandchildren Heidi, Jason, Matthew, Andrew, William, Jeffrey, Catherine, Michael, Alexander and Valerie, 12 great-grandchildren, her brother Raymond Latino and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings Charles Latino, Stella Nelson, Gloria Vokes and Nina Alicandro.
Rose was born February 12, 1928 in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Antonina (Pusateri) and Raymond Latino. Family was always her greatest joy as she spent many years at home with her children. Later in life she worked as a Coder in the Medical Records department at UMass Memorial in Worcester. Away from work she was known as an avid reader, always a novel close by and she would easily finish a book every week. She also loved word puzzles and her love of crosswords eventually even inspired her husband Augustine to become a builder of the puzzles that would be published in several publications as Rose continued to work on solving them. She was an outstanding cook and savored the tradition of preparing Italian meals for her family. She was a beloved “Nana” to her grandchildren and also instilled in her children the value of education and going on to lead lives of purpose and service to others.
All are welcome to gather with Rose’s family and friends Monday October 17th from 9-10:30am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N.
