Clarke grew up in Bristol, CT, graduating from Bristol Eastern High School in 1972, and then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Assumption University in Worcester, MA in 1976. He started off his professional career at Paul Revere Insurance/Unum where he worked for 25 years and met his wife Cheryl. He continued to work in the insurance field for many years, working for several different companies. More recently, Clarke was the Outreach Director at the Sutton Senior Center and always expressed his love for his co-workers and how happy this new career path had made him. He was a recent member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and spoke so highly of his time spent there every Sunday. Clarke spent a lot of his time volunteering over the years and enjoyed making people smile. He was an avid lover of music and the arts, but especially loved his sports being a dedicated Yankees and Giants fan. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends, and cycling with his Sutton crew, ALFW. Clarke was a kind and compassionate man who loved his friends and family more than anything. He was a loving and devoted father, husband, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed. Elizabeth and Kara want to extend a special thanks to the UMASS Medical Center 6 ICU team of doctors and nurses for their compassionate care and kindness in his final days and making him smile as much as possible.
