Anita H. Otto, 95, of Shrewsbury/Framingham passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022
following a brief illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Theodore Otto and a
daughter, Claudia Madden.
She leaves her daughter Lindsay Tosi and her husband Stephen of Grafton, her son-in-law
Joseph Madden of Sterling, her 4 beloved grand-children; Krissy O’Shea and her husband Sean
of Carlisle, Andrew Tosi and his fiance Julia of Concord, Matthew Tosi and his wife Amy of
Novato, CA. and Christopher Madden of Sterling and her great-grandson Ruairí O’Shea.
Anita was born June 15, 1926 in New London CT. She was the daughter of the late Jessie E.
(Rose) and Frederick William “Jake” Von Hoff. Anita graduated from Waltham highschool in
1944 and quickly began her professional career working first at the Middlesex County
Courthouse in Cambridge. It was here that her enduring affection for career life blossomed. She
was married on Valentines Day 1948 and in 1954, together with her husband, settled in
Framingham. After the birth of her two daughters, she worked for Worcester Federal Savings
Bank. She then went on to work as the Purchasing Agent for Adcole Corp of Marlborough for
more than 30 years.
Anita was a keen adventurer and an avid traveler. She loved to see the world and try new
things. She crossed the globe exploring places from Hawaii to Africa with many stops between.
In 2006 she moved to Orchard Meadows, Shrewsbury to be closer to her family and here she
made many enduring friendships before moving to Southgate at Shrewsbury where she made
her home for the last 5 years.
Anita was a true force. Her quick wit, stylish fashion sense and love of a party will be greatly
missed by all who knew her.
