WORCESTER: Ruth E. (Allen) Costa, 97, passed away peacefully at home March 2, 2022. Her loving husband of 25 years Alexander Costa passed away in 1974. She leaves her son Gregory Costa and his wife Susan, her daughter Sandra Costa, her grandson Chad Costa and his wife Sarah and two great grandsons Alexander and Adam Costa. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Allen and sisters Lillian Finnerty, Helen Huggett, Frances Berry and sister-in-law Shpresa Lee. Ruth was born June 1, 1924 in Worcester, daughter of the late Elizabeth F. (Whalen) and John T. Allen. Her roots were in the city and she was a life long resident there. For many years the family maintained a cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee where they prized time together under the sun. Closer to home Ruth was often seen tending to her garden and feeding the birds. If you knew Ruth you’ll remember a kind, gentle soul who adored her family. Ruth’s funeral services and burial will be private at her family’s convenience.
