Obituary for Connor M. Blanchard
GRAFTON/BATON ROUGE, LA: Connor M. Blanchard, 28, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2021. He was the beloved son of Robin (O’Toole) and Chad Blanchard, adored and favorite brother to his sisters Kaitlin and Courtney Blanchard (fiancé Jackson Downey). Connor was predeceased by his maternal grandparents John and Sandra (Grendol) O’Toole and paternal grandparents Beverly and Ann (Gautreau) Blanchard, his uncles Todd, Timothy, and Lyle Blanchard, and his aunt Carol (Grendol) Markey, Gail Blair and uncle Richard Grendol.
In addition, he leaves his extended family in Louisiana, Massachusetts, Boston Children’s Hospital Family, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Connor was born February 8, 1993 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He would later live in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and most recently in Aberdeen, Maryland. Connor had a rare medical condition that he battled throughout his life with strength, perseverance, the love and support of his family, friends, and the caring staff at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Those who knew him best will remember his broad smile and his mischievous nature. He was happiest with a guitar in his hand strumming classic rock with the people that meant the most to him nearby listening, no matter the time of day (or night) or if they wanted to in the first place. A few of his favorite songs to play included “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Stairway to Heaven”. Connor enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing pool, composing lyrics, watching movies (Jurassic Park being one of his favorites), and joking around with anyone that would listen. He had a quick wit that produced belly laughs and had a gift for making jokes about anything and lightening the mood no matter how twisted or serious the situation would be. He loved to take photos of his family and friends and would always add comical narrations of the moments he captured, even if it didn’t pertain to the true reality of the picture at the time. Connor was a loyal friend, had such a trusting nature, and when he wasn’t shirtless, he was willing to give the shirt off of his back to those that he loved. He had a zest for life and dreamed about going to Nova Scotia one day to see the orcas which he found to be majestic and a symbol of freedom.
In life, he was certain to thank his medical team who guided him, in particular Dr. Ahmad Alomari, Dr. Patricia Burrows, Dr. Amir Taghinia, Dr. Steven Fishman, Dr. John Mulliken, Dr. James Kasser, and all of the nursing staff that cared for him countless times over the years. A special thank you to his dearest aunt, Diane Roney and family for all of their love and support they have shown Connor throughout his life.
