GRAFTON: Joan M. (Blanchard) Mackowiak, 88, passed away April 12, 2021 at Webster Manor after a lengthy illness. Her husband of 56 years, Lee Mackowiak passed away in 2010 and her son Daniel Mackowiak also predeceased her in 2018. Joan leaves her grandchildren Trevor and Angela, her daughter-in-law Bonnie Mackowiak, Sue Federici who was in many ways like a daughter to Joan and many dear friends. Joan was born February 21, 1933 in Worcester and she grew up in the city before moving to Grafton where she lived for many years with her husband Lee. Together Joan and Lee were the owners and operators of Centre Plaza Donut Shop from 1982 to 1993 where they built many friendships while serving the best donuts in town. Away from work on a summer afternoon Joan was easily found poolside with a Bloody Mary and she always hoped her grandchildren would be close by as she adored them above all else. All are welcome to gather with Joan’s family and friends Saturday April 17th from 9:30-11:00am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton MA 01536.
