Condolence: Giri is my best friend since childhood. We go as far as 50 short year’s. In those years we have done everything together as friends normally do. But, I would say our families relationship in addition to our friendship is what’s special. Everyone who knows Giri and I remembers seeing us together at all the parties and family gatherings since we were 5 years old. We have countless memories together from riding our bikes to swimming in the well or sand banks, playing cricket, soccer, going to school, watching movies together to name a few. We went on many adventures from beaches, hills and mountains to ocean boat rides in uncharted territories. We have also enjoyed many other times in Canada as well. He was the Best Man for me and Priya’s wedding. He travelled to Sri Lanka even though he was restricted to travel to there because he was working on a project for NATO and our country was listed as a dangerous country to visit. However he was ensured and he made an agreement with his company. My wife and I are forever thankful he made it to our wedding. On the plane ride to Canada after my wedding, we booked my mother business class seat to bring her back safely to Canada and someone had to sit with her. Giri said I will sit with mummy you go and sit beside Priya. He is a person that would help anybody whole heartedly without asking questions. There are so many families around the world who have survived because of his giving heart and charity. There is a charity organization still working to help people affected by war in Sri Lanka, and he was a main pillar/member of this organization. Giri got married one year after my wedding to his beautiful wife Janani, his soulmate and life partner. They met at the University of Ottawa. She is a very understanding and beautiful individual. They were married for 24 years and have two beautiful intelligent daughters Vaibahvi and Utsavi. Giri gave my wife and I the honour of being his daughters' Godparents. We are so blessed and grateful for the role of Godparents and we will continue to be by their side and support them throughout their lives and endeavours. We always share both of our children’s success stories and it gives us joy. You have always been happy for my children's success and supported them. Sharon and Joshua miss you dearly and will never forget your kindness and calmness. You have inspired them to lead in your way. I will cherish the countless memories from the past and present forever. My dearest friend your body is gone but your memories and soul remain with your family and my family forever.
