Shrewsbury—Joyce M. (Proctor) Raskett, 76, died Saturday, August 1, at UMASS University Campus after a sudden illness. She leaves a son, Joseph Chunis, Jr., of Millbury, a daughter, Jodi Chunis and her partner, Jennifer Howard, of Apex, NC, 2 sisters; Paula Lamy, of Westford, and Patricia Putnam and her husband Bruce, of Sutton, and 4 grandchildren; Joseph III, Jillian, Jacob and Camden, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Richard Raskett, in 2013, her brother-in-law Paul and a brother Walter.

A daughter of the late Kenneth and Statia (Knapik) Proctor, Joyce was born September 12 in Hartford, CT. She was raised in South Grafton and graduated from Worcester Girls’ Trade. After graduation she worked as a hairdresser for many years. She retired from Micro Networks, where she had been a Quality Control Supervisor for more than 10 years.

Joyce was a wonderful cook and enjoyed Polka dancing with Richard. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
