UPTON: Donna E. Akiyoshi, 64, passed away peacefully February 27, 2020 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home following an illness. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dean Regier, her siblings Michael, David and Mark Akiyoshi and three nephews. Donna was born May 22, 1955 in East Los Angeles, CA, daughter of the late Shika (Takasugi) and Tick Akiyoshi. She grew up in Montebello, CA where much of her family still resides. She relocated to the East Coast as she pursued her career in the biotechnology field where she became an accomplished Biomedical Researcher. For the past 20 years she was working at Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Away from her work she was easily found close to home, often cultivating and tending to her perennials and shade plants which gave her great peace.
