Obituary for Patricia J. English (Donahue)

Patricia J. (Donahue) English, 69, passed away peacefully at home July 19, 2019. Her husband Robert G. English passed away in 2010. Patricia leaves her daughter Jill Spitzer and her husband Brian and their children Jack and Sydney, her son Jonathan English, her sister Fran Clark and her husband Steve and her nephew Jon Clark. Patricia also leaves behind her brother-in-law William English, Jr. and his wife Paula, sisters-in-law Beth Lyons and her husband Paul and Kathleen Connors and her husband Marty and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patricia was born February 15, 1950 in Worcester, daughter of the late Genevieve and Timothy Donahue. She and her husband Robert lived in Grafton for more than 40 years. Patricia was a Librarian at the Grafton Public Library and had a life-long love of books, history & gardening. Patti, as friends and family knew her, enjoyed time with her family more than anything. In honor of Patricia in lieu of traditional remembrances her family welcomes donations to the Stephen H. Roney Memorial Park online at www.GraftonEngine2.org. All are welcome to gather with her family and friends Tuesday July 23rd from 4pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton, MA 01536. My children, now adults, loved going to the library at least once a week to see Mrs. English. She made every visit special, taking the time to talk to them about the books they were returning and taking out. As others have noted, she knew their names and card numbers by heart. Thank you so much, Patti, for giving us all such wonderful memories! You will be forever missed.

Dear Jill & Family
We are so sorry to hear about your mom. Your family is in our prayers.
I have fond memories of your mom working out in the yard with your grandparents. She is forever in your heart and just a memory away.

I am so sorry to hear of Patty's passing. She always encouraged my boys to read, finding just the right book for each of them. Not only did she know their card numbers but also their names. She blessed one of my boys with his favorite book when he joined the Marines...How Many Trucks Could A Tow Truck Tow? He was a tow truck driver on deployment.
Her laughter will be missed.

Patti was a knowledgeable and delightful coworker. She had a wonderful connection with the patrons of the South Grafton branch library when she was there.
She spoke with joy about her family. My sincere condolences to all of you.

Francie

Patti,
Yesterday we said our good bye to you, and took you to be together forever with your Bob. The sun was so bright there. Jill, Jonathan, Brian, Jack and
Sydney gave you a day that was beautiful and loving - just like you. Your family and friends and so many of Jill and Jonathan's amazing friends and coworkers
were there to honor you and give them the support they really needed. They'll never be another you, but they'll never be a day that our memories of you aren't in our hearts.
Love you much,
Francie, "Sis"
