SUTTON: Helen M. (Slanda) Brousseau, 87, passed away January 18, 2019 following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband George Brousseau. She leaves her sons Dwayne Brousseau and his wife Deborah and Mark Brousseau and his wife Joyce, her grandchildren Dwayne, Jr., Brad, and Trish Brousseau, Amanda LaPete and Jamie Brousseau,7 great-grandchildren and a nephew. Her brothers Stanley and Raymond Slanda also predeceased her. Helen was born in Pawtucket, RI September 7, 1931. Early in life she relocated to Grafton where she lived for many years. Young children around Grafton came to know her as “Mrs. B” as she drove a school bus for decades. Everyone else that met her probably came to know her as “Gram” whether she was family to them or not. She prized time with family most, could be found every Wednesday playing a game of Aggravation with friends and was always up for a game of gin rummy as well. Helen was devoted in her support of the Polish Club and looked forward to monthly meetings there with her friends and grandson, and she was always easy to find at the coffee shop with the people that meant the most to her. She’ll be greatly missed. Please honor Helen in lieu of flowers with a donation to The American Heart Association at www.heart.org. All are welcome to gather with Helen’s family Saturday January 26th from 10am-12pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N.
