Obituary for Laura P. Dodge

GRAFTON: Laura Priscilla (Childs) Dodge, age 93, died February 27 at the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. Laura was born in Cummington, Massachusetts to Lida Ellen Canfield Childs and Charles Frances Childs, Jr. She was the wife of Frederick J. Dodge, Sr., who died in 2006. She was predeceased by all of her siblings, Stanley Childs, Dorothy Catino, Helen Ciccone, and James Childs.
Laura leaves two children, Frederick J. Dodge, Jr., of Rindge, New Hampshire and his wife Linda, and Catherine E. Graves of Manchester, Massachusetts and her husband John. She also leaves five grandchildren, Carrie Holtan of Spokane Valley, Washington, Ross Dahlstrom of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Jessica Dodge of Winchendon, Massachusetts, Beth Wierling of Franklin, Massachusetts and Sarah Doolittle of Hubbardston, Massachusetts. She is survived by three nieces, Beverly Wilson of Grafton, Judith Schoenfeldt of Sutton and Sharon Catino of Worcester. Laura has ten great grandchildren and many grand nieces and nephews.
Laura was a member of the Baptist Church of Grafton and a past member of the Eastern Star. She was an avid craftsperson, who loved fishing and the outdoors and enjoyed games, especially Cribbage.
A memorial service will be held at the Baptist Church in Grafton on March 10 at 11:00 am. Anyone who has a quilt or afghan that Laura made for them is invited to bring it with them. Donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or the Baptist Church of Grafton.A Book of Memories to share a memory of Laura is available online at:
