Obituary for Joseph F. Sena Jr.

Joseph F. Sena, Jr., 58, passed away January 29, 2018 after a courageous, lengthy struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Lisa (Cofsky) Sena, two sons, Joseph Sena and his wife Rebecca and Christopher Sena, his grandchildren Joseph, Carter, Max, Jack and Grant, his mother Frances Sena, two sisters and several nieces and nephews. Joe was born February 2, 1959 in Worcester. He grew up in the Grafton Hill neighborhood and graduated from North High School where he was a prominent baseball player in Central Massachusetts. Joseph joined the US Air Force at age 18, and he served for more than 24 years in the US Air Force and Air National Guard with his deployments taking him across Europe and the Middle East. Following his military service, he worked in Cable and Wiring for many years. Joe led a robust, active life, running often, going to the beaches at Cape Cod, tending to his home and always being there for his sons and loved ones when they needed him. His Italian heritage always came through in his kitchen as he would cook signature dishes for his family. All are welcome to gather with friends and family Thursday, February 1st from 5pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. A prayer service will be held Friday February 2nd at 11am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
