Obituary for William R. Fields

WESTBOROUGH: William Rae “Bill” Fields, 93, formerly of Blake St. Westborough, on April 27, 2017, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. He leaves his loving wife of 70 years, Shirley M. (Perron) Fields, daughter Bonnie Fields Britt of Westborough, three sons, David Fields of Westborough, Christopher Fields and his wife Jennifer of Westborough, William Fields and his wife Jo-Anne of Franklin; six grandchildren Rachel Langlois, Andrew Britt, Brittany Fields, Cody Fields, Julie Fields, Eric Fields; two great-grandsons Hudson and Archie Langlois. He was born in Portland, Maine, son of George Fields and Ceinwen Williams Gagne. Raised in North Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. He was a Westborough resident for 65 years and worked many years at the voting booths. A WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific seeing action in New Guinea, Luzon and the Philippines. He worked at David Clark Co. in Worcester for more than 40 years before retiring. Memorial donations may be made to the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center c/o Resident Activity Center 3 Lyman St. Westborough, MA 01581. Bill’s family will gather Saturday May 6th from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a prayer service at 12:30pm in the funeral home.
