Obituary for Barbara T. Gaulin (Cournoyer)

SHREWSBURY: Barbara T. (Cournoyer) Gaulin 89, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Grafton, passed away peacefully March 21, 2017 at St. Camillus Healthcare in Whitinsville. Her husband of 64 years, Thomas Gaulin passed away in 2013, She was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Debbie Kuras and her husband Paul, Thomas Gaulin and his wife Pam and Amy Meersman and her husband Derek, her grandchildren Andrew Kuras and his wife Sharon and Abby, Tess and Anna Meersman, her nephew and nieces George Dellomo, Janice Lucia, Diane LeBlanc, Linda Parmakian and Bill Martin. Barbara was the last surviving of 7 siblings, her brothers Joseph and William Cournoyer and sisters Mary Riel, Irene Carito, Mildred Cassano and Rita Dellomo, her sister and best friend all predeceased her. Barbara was born January 19, 1928 in Worcester, daughter of the late Louise (Niederberger) and Joseph Cournoyer. Her roots were in the Grafton Hill neighborhood in Worcester and she lived in Shrewsbury with her husband Tom for many years where they raised their family. Happiness for Barbara was often found in her camper with her husband Tom as they traveled all over the U.S. and were often found in Salisbury and Seabrook, New Hampshire where they would walk the seacoast together. During their retirement years they spent time in Leesburg, Florida and then in Virginia with their daughter Amy. All are welcome to gather with Barbara’s family and friends Saturday April 1st from 10-11am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a prayer service at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
