Obituary for Alois C Hauk

SPENCER/GRAFTON: Alois C. Hauk, 81, passed away December 10, 2016 at home following an illness. His wife Claire Hauk predeceased him. He is survived by his four children Dawn Green and her husband Mark, Alois C. Hauk, Jr. and his wife Donna, William Hauk and his wife Kelly and Lisa Hauk, his sister Marilyn Brock, grandchildren Monica Bushey, Erynn Hauk, William Hauk and Kimberly Fleming and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his former wife Barbara (Bagley) Hauk. Alois, or “Charlie” as he was known was born March 9, 1935 in Leigh, Nebraska. He grew up in Leigh and joined the U.S. Navy where he served during the Korean conflict. While on leave in Massachusetts he met his first wife Barbara and established roots in Massachusetts where their family lived for many years. Charlie worked for more than 30 years at Burroughs Corporation/Unisys as a field engineer. More recently Charlie lived in Kittery, Maine for 10 years before returning to Spencer to be closer to his family. He was best known for his easy going and giving nature. If you knew Charlie you adored him. Away from work Charlie’s home was easy to find as his lawn was always the greenest you could find as he cared for it meticulously. Please honor Charlie with a memorial donation to The Humane Society of Massachusetts 445 North Franklin Street Holbrook, MA 02343. A Remembrance service will be held for Charlie next Spring and will be announced at a later date.
