YVETTE M. R IAK Op
Yvette M. (Vincent) Ropiak, 84, passed away November 18, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 54 years, Edward J. Ropiak passed away in 2008. She is survived by three children, Susan McCullen and her husband Daniel of Sutton, MaryAnne Foster of Worcester, John J. Ropiak and his wife Renee of Northbridge, her brother Hector Vincent and his wife Gloria of Sutton, 4 beautiful grandchildren, Kimberly and Nicole McCullen and Kirsten and Tanner Ropiak who will greatly miss their "Meme" and "Grandma" as well as several nieces and nephews. Yvette was born in Grafton August 18, 1926, daughter of the late Lydia (Legere) and Armand Vincent and was a life-long resident there. She studied to become a nurse at St. Vincent School of Nursing, Quinsigamond Community College, and Anna Maria College. She began her nursing career as a visiting nurse before she became an RN for more than 30 years. She was also a nurse instructor. Yvette loved to travel with her husband, family and friends, including trips in the summer to Cape Cod and Maine in addition to vacations overseas and several cruises. She also was very active in her home parish of St. James, serving on the Daughters of Isabella and as a Eucharistic Minister at weekly mass. Yvette adored her family and she especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral & Calling Hours
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Yvette Monday November 22, 2010 at 10:30am in St. James Catholic Church 89 Main St. in South Grafton. All attending the Funeral Mass are respectfully requested to go directly to church. She will then be laid to rest with her husband in Fairview Cemetery. All are invited to calling hours Sunday November 21st from 2pm to 5pm at The Roney Funeral Home 124 Main St. South Grafton MA 01560. In lieu of flowers Yvette's family requests memorial contributions to Salmon Hospice PO Box 935 Northbridge MA 01534.
