Obituary for
BRUCE M. QUARTULLI
PETERSHAM / GRAFTON: Bruce M. Quartulli, 57, passed away unexpectedly Sunday night at Athol Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack at home. Bruce was a Physical Therapist who began his career in 1981 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was the Director of Rehabilitation Services at Heywood Hospital in Gardner and the head of Quartulli & Associates, Inc. which provided physical and occupational therapy services to patients at Heywood Hospital and the Heywood Rehabilitation Center. Bruce��(TM)s business began with a small staff of four and under his leadership has grown to a current size of over fifty employees. He was a member of The American Physical Therapy Association and served on an Advisory Board for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. Bruce also gave generously of his time and resources to many organizations and charities.
Bruce was born March 29, 1952 in Worcester, raised in South Grafton, where he lived for many years before moving to Grafton Center and then to Petersham. Bruce graduated from St. John��(TM)s High School in Shrewsbury in 1970 and Northeastern University in 1981 earning his BS in Physical Therapy. Bruce was a current parishioner of St. Peter��(TM)s Church in Petersham, a former Eucharistic Minister and parishioner of St. James Church in South Grafton. He was a former Grafton Firefighter assigned to Station 3. Bruce was an avid basketball fan and player, enjoyed running, maintaining his physical fitness, and playing golf as a member of the Petersham Country Club.
Bruce was a devoted father and family man who is survived by his children Gina M. Roseen and her husband Michael of Grafton, Marc J. Quartulli and his wife Denise of Bellingham, Thomas M. Quartulli and his wife Stefanie of Somerville, Michael J. Quartulli of Brookline and their mother Paula E. Quartulli of Grafton. He leaves his parents, Armando and Olive (Maynard) Quartulli of South Grafton, one brother, Rex M. Quartulli and his wife Terri of Oakham, two sisters, Susan A. Benson of Leicester, Nancy M. Philbrook and her husband Barry of Uxbridge, five grandchildren, Kelsey, Alexander, Owen, Catherine, Andrew and numerous nephews and nieces. Bruce leaves his beloved fiancée Charlene E. Costa and her children John and Paige, all of Petersham. He was predeceased by his sister Linda J. McGrath. Funeral Arrangements:
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday June 6th at 1 pm in St. James Roman Catholic Church, 89 Main St. in South Grafton. He will be laid to rest in Petersham at a later date. All are invited to calling hours Friday June 5th from 5 to 9 pm in The Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. North Grafton
