Obituary for
Alice Uzep
Grafton- Alice N. (Tyndyk) Uzep passed away peacefully January 30th at the Westborough Health Care Center at the age of 94. Alice was born August 28, 1913 in Chicago, IL. She was the oldest of thirteen children. Alice immigrated back to her parent's native Poland while still an infant and returned back to the United States in 1938, living in Springfield, MA. She worked at several factory jobs, including Steven Arms formerly in Springfield and a radio parts manufacturer during WWII. While in Springfield she met and later married William M. Uzep on March 6, 1954, moving to Worcester and then to Grafton. Her husband predeceased her in February 1982. Alice was fond of gardening, sewing and picking wild mushrooms. She spoke fluent Russian and Polish. She leaves behind a daughter, Zena Uzep of Grafton, a sister, Zena of Belarus, two cousins, Patricia and her husband Stanley Lusnia of Sarasota, FL and Kim and her husband Mark McCabe also of Sarasota, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of Roney Funeral Homes, 152 Worcester St, North Grafton. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 1st at 1:30 pm at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. No reception to follow.
