Obituary for Joseph Kevin Tracy

Joseph Kevin Tracy, 90, of Medway, died Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Milford. Born on March 12, 1928 in Whitinsville, he was the son of Michael and Mary Quinn Tracy of Uxbridge. Kevin was the loving brother of his three late sisters, Katherine Kennedy, Margaret Tuttle, and Eileen Findling. He is survived by his beloved older brother, David M. Tracy and his sister-in-law Barbara of New York City, his devoted brother-in-law, David L. Tuttle, Jr., of Bellingham, and more than 50 nieces, nephews and cousins of three generations who were grateful to have Kevin in their lives. He also leaves behind the dedicated and affectionate staff of the group home where he lived for many years.

Kevin grew up in Uxbridge, attended public schools there, and later lived at the Wrentham State School, Edgewood Nursing Home in North Grafton, and in his home in Medway. Blessed with an exceptional memory, Kevin could recall the customers from his boyhood paper route well into his eighties, and astonished all who knew him with his ability to recall the birthday and anniversary dates of all his family and friends. Kevin had a sunny, gentle personality, and easily befriended countless fellow students, neighbors and caregivers. He loved ice cream, coffee and donuts, music of the Big Band era, had a keen interest in automobiles, and was a fan of classic old movies and Boston sports teams.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Uxbridge, on Saturday, July 7 at 11 AM, with internment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Granite Street, Uxbridge.
