Obituary for Jean M. Allain

Grafton – Jean M. (Gladd) Allain, 83,of Ferry Street, South Grafton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday April 19, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She leaves her loving husband of 62 years, Rene L. Allain;
four children; sons Michael Allain of Dudley, Richard Allain and his wife Celeste of S. Grafton, Kenneth Allain and his partner Dawn Dubois of Millbury, and daughter Sandra Allain of Worcester; five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister Ann (Gladd) Labaire of Northborough / Grafton. She was predeceased by her brother Norman Gladd, and sisters, Mary Normandin, Catherine Gladd, Magdalene Gladd, Ruth Nelson and Rita Jeffery. Mrs. Allain was born July 6, 1933 to the late Richard Anthony and Helen (Kelly) Gladd. She was raised in Grafton and graduated from Saint Basil Academy in Fox Chase, Pennsylvania. She was active in the Saint James Women’s Guild. She loved animals, board and card games, Bingo and ten-pin bowling. The family wishes to thank her wonderful caretakers; Gina Morales, Pam Letourneau, Melissa Lynch and Alice O’Conner. All are invited to calling hours Sunday,
April 23rd from 4 to 7 pm in the Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton MA 01536.The celebration of a Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 24th at 10:30 am at Saint James Catholic Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton, MA 01560. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s honor supporting the ministry work in Haiti of Fr. John Henault, 29 Blackstone St., Sutton, MA 01590.
