Paul R. Brennan
GRAFTON: Paul Richard Brennan, 88, of North Grafton, passed away on March 28, 2017 surrounded by his family at Beaumont Nursing Center in Northborough, MA.
Paul was born in Worcester, MA on June 8, 1928 and was a resident of Grafton for 58 years. He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Marguerite Brennan, his late wife of 44 years, Shirley M. Brennan, and sister, Doris Manzello and her husband Anthony.
Paul was a graduate of Commerce High School, class of 1947. He attended the New England School of Accounting attended the School of Industrial Management at Worcester Polytechnical Institute. He worked at Johnson Steel and Wire for 39 years as an Auditor and Assistant Treasurer. He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard 26th Division. For many years he was involved in Grafton Little League as the League-Player agent, St. Mary’s CCD Program in North Grafton, and the Knights of Columbus.
An avid walker, Paul walked 6-8 miles a day and, until a few years ago, he could often be seen walking around North Grafton at a brisk pace with only time for a quick wave up. He loved the ocean and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to swim and body-surf. He was a passionate sports fan and skillful cribbage player.
Paul is survived by his two sons, Richard P. Brennan and his wife Joann of Grafton and Robert F. Brennan of Worcester; and by 2 daughters, Jane Petrie and her husband Chris of Grafton and Patricia Natoli and her husband Mickey of Salem, NH. He leaves behind eight grandchildren: Jason Petrie and his wife, Becky; Essek Petrie and his wife, Sarah; Tricia Lafond and her husband, Matthew; Sean Brennan and his wife, Cheryl; Brennan, Brianna, and Brayla Natoli; and Bryce Brennan. He also had ten great-grandchildren and is survived by his brother, Hank Brennan and his wife Ann of Worcester.
He will be especially missed by his dear friend and treasured companion of twenty years, Sue Manzi. They shared a love for New England sports, long walks, car rides and the ocean.

All are welcome to gather with Paul’s family Sunday April 2nd from 3pm to 6pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Paul Monday April 3rd at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. All attending the Funeral Mass are politely requested to go directly to church. He will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
