GRAFTON: Barbara M. Lapoint, 82, of North Grafton, peacefully passed on December 20, 2016 after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Bernard J. LaPoint, Sr. and Minnie (Doane) LaPoint of North Grafton, she is survived by brothers Bernard LaPointe (Janice) of North Grafton, William LaPointe (Carol) of Barnstable, and John LaPoint of Grafton, and sister Linda Beaudry (Robert) of Brookings, Oregon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barbara was a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton and a Registered Head Nurse at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston before retiring in Grafton. She was a graduate of the former St. Stephen’s High School in Worcester and did her nursing training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing in Brighton. Barbara was active in the Grafton Senior Center and was an officer on the Grafton Council of Aging. She was active in knitting and sewing – making baptism garments and prayer shawls for the Catholic churches in Grafton. All are welcome to a Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Saturday December 24th at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. Burial will follow next to her parents at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton. There are no calling hours.
