Obituary for Janice M. Ronfeld

Janice M. (Gibson) Ronfeld, 73, passed away following complications from an illness Saturday April 2, 2016. She leaves her significant other of 35 years Paul LeBlanc and son Nicholas Ronfeld and his wife Sara. Jan was born June 15, 1942 in Hollywood, California. Her early years were spent in Nevada, Idaho and Washington State before she settled briefly in San Francisco, California which in many ways remained her spiritual home for years to come. She especially loved the art scene in the Haight Ashbury district in San Francisco. Eventually Jan found herself in Connecticut and eventually Grafton where she lived for more than 30 years where she was affectionately known as the "North Street Hippie" and also hosted her own cable access tv show, "The Holy Blabbermouth" where she was known as "JR". Jan's work was instrumental to the success of the recruitment departments at UMass and Deaconess Hospital blood donation services. Jan also was a charter member of The Community Harvest Project in Grafton. More recently Jan and Paul lived in Douglas. In lieu of flowers please honor Jan with a donation to The Community Harvest Project 37 Wheeler Road Grafton, MA 01519. All are invited to gather with Jan's family and friends for a prayer service Friday April 8th at 11:00am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. She will then be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Grafton. Please visit an online guestbook to share a memory of Jan or message of sympathy with her family at:
