Obituary for Tina M. Kays

Tina M. (Padavano) Kays, 55, lost her brief yet courageous battle with cancer on July 8, 2016. Tina passed away peacefully at the Holy Trinity Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Worcester surrounded by her loving family. Tina is survived by her husband, James, her 3 sons, Kyle Kays, and Brett Kays of North Grafton, and Cory Kays of Ashland, her brother Joseph Padavano and his wife Deor Baker of Virginia, her aunt Frances Fanelli of Shrewsbury, her sister-in-law Linda Kays and her wife Kelly Callahan of Texas, her brother-in-law Larry Kays of Washington, sister-in-law Carrol Peery and her husband Todd of Idaho, sister-in-law Tracie Kays-Esher of Washington, her mother-in-law Dorothy Porter of Washington and father-in-law Robert Kays of Washington and cousin Fran Lindberg and her husband George of Maine, and her many dear friends, co-workers and family. She is predeceased by her father Frank Padavano and mother Josephine (Campanale) Padavano. Tina was born and raised in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School, and attended Worcester State College, she recently moved to North Grafton. Tina worked as a supervisor for the Toys-R-Us/Babies–R-Us in Northborough. She enjoyed working with the new mothers and soon to be mothers helping and guiding them on the new phase of their lives, and enjoyed spending time with her co-workers. Tina doted on her 3 boys and loved her family more than anything. Tina spent many years working in the retail industry with a brief stint as a Technical Trainer at Digital Equipment Corporation, where she met her husband. She worked many years on the overnight crew at the Christmas Tree Shop in Shrewsbury so that she would be home to take care of her boys during the day, whom she loved more than anything. When Tina was not taking care of her boys she enjoyed spending time at the beach, with Old Orchard Beach in Maine being one of her favorite vacation spots. Tina could light up a room when she walked in and would do anything for a friend. Tina eschewed the spotlight but would work tirelessly in the background to ensure the successful completion of which ever task she was working on. Tina will be missed enormously by all those that knew and loved her.
