Obituary for Barry J. Flynn

Barry Joseph Flynn, 60, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 13, 2016 at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. He was the son of the late Kenneth F. Flynn and Eleanor J. (Howard) Flynn. Barry was born at Memorial Hospital in Worcester, grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. He is survived by his brothers Leo S. Flynn of Dudley and his wife Pat, Gregory J. Flynn of Charlton and his wife Lynn, Howard R. Flynn of Delray Beach, Florida, sister Susan F. Fleming of Grafton, his partner Mark Kirk of West Palm Beach and many nieces and nephews. Barry was predeceased by his brothers Terrance K. Flynn, Kenneth P. Flynn and his sister Lois A. Ward. Barry was a member of Local 669, of the Sprinkler Fitters Union before moving to Florida in 1985 and becoming a member of Local 821. He worked many years as a sprinkler fitter and inspector, with Farmer and Irwin, before his retirement in 2009. Barry was a loving and generous man with a great sense of humor. He loved animals, gardening, bird watching, photography, and spending time with his family and friends. He and Mark had many fun times at NASCAR races, and exploring the Everglades. Barry loved life and had great hope for the future. He was dearly loved, and will be missed forever. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Mary's Church c/o Market Sunday 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 or to the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge, 10216 Lee Road Boynton Beach, FL 33473. All are welcome to gather with Barry's family and friends Thursday June 16th from 5pm to 7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Barry Friday June 17th at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in North Grafton. He will then be laid to rest at St. Phillip's Cemetery in Grafton.
