Patricia J. (Tighe) Jones, 88, passed away early Thursday morning August 11, 201 at Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, MA. She was born in Worcester, MA May 18, 1928, daughter of the late Marion (Tweedie) and Thomas Tighe. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and had worked at Reed and Prentice in Worcester, The William Paul House and Iandoli Market in Holden and as part of owner of The Family Market in Hubbardston. Pat was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Harold Gordon Jones, in 2013. She is survived by her four daughters; Kathleen Johnson of Denver, CO, Karen Jones of Rutland, MA, Brenda Wallar of Rutland, MA and Rebecca Metzger of Thaxton, VA. A son, Steven Jones of Paxton, MA predeceased her in 1988. Pat is also survived by her four sisters, three brothers, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Patricia and her husband Gordon lived on Richards Ave in Paxton for 54 years. Pat loved to garden and watch the humming birds outside her kitchen window. She was a fantastic cook and baker. She was well-known for her homemade Swedish coffee bread, chocolate roll, and pies which she would generously donate to bake sales at the town library and elementary school. Pat and Gordon traveled extensively in their camper visiting all 50 states over the years. Pat loved to pick up interesting rocks from across the country. Every one she kept was labeled with a date and location. She loved to do crafts and instilled that love in her children and grandchildren which came in handy when anyone had a school "project" to design. She was very handy with a sewing machine and made many of her children's clothes and Halloween costumes. Her many talents will be missed. Calling hours will be Thursday August 18th from 1:00-2:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N.
